NORTH LOOP NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDE

About the Neighborhood

The North Loop — also known as the “Warehouse District” — is a historic area just northwest of downtown Minneapolis.

Once a hub of rail and industrial activity, many of the old warehouses have since been converted into lofts, apartments, offices, shops, and restaurants, giving the neighborhood a unique blend of historic-industrial character and modern urban life.

Its boundaries put you walking distance from downtown, the riverfront, and key transit links — perfect for a 3-month stay whether you work, study, or explore.

Getting Around — Transport & Mobility

The North Loop is highly walkable and bike-friendly — perfect if you prefer to go car-free or minimal.

For longer commutes or city-wide trips: public transit is available, and downtown — including corporate offices, shops, and services — is nearby.

If you prefer driving: the neighborhood gives access to major routes and the broader metro with reasonable convenience. For recreation: the neighborhood offers easy connection to riverfront paths and nearby bike/walking trails — ideal for daily strolls, runs, or biking.
